#FiveFilms4Freedom is a global, digital short-film celebration in support of LGBTQ+ rights – and hence human rights. In 2018, anyone with an Internet connection will again be able to watch five short films with LGBTQ+ themes as part of the celebration and campaign.
The British Council, in partnership with BFI Flare: London LGBTQ+ Film Festival, aims to create a friendly knowledge and understanding between the people of the UK and countries worldwide, and for a 12-day period these #FiveFilms4Freedom will be available to watch & stream online for free.
The world’s widest-reaching LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer) digital campaign returns for its fourth edition: March 21 – April 1, 2018.
The 2018 films have been selected from Canada, Greece, India, Korea and the United Kingdom – all of which are available subtitled into a range of languages to allow a worldwide audience to watch the beautiful short films.
#FiveFilms4Freedom gives viewers the chance to experience some of the stories and lives of LGBTQ+ people. We believe that this has the power to positively change people’s attitudes. We also know that such films give LGBTQ+ people in difficult environments a way to connect with others who support them.
