Last month, I was invited to an exclusive event for Pukka Herbs to launch their new Turmeric Gold collection, which was held in the always-stunning glasshouse at House Dublin, Leeson Street. The event was really informative & intimate, one of my favourite styles for learning about new products, and Pukka creator & founder Sebastian Pole was also in attendance to talk to us all about his brand and their herbal, holistic goodness. House also provided us with tasty nibbles, that I can never get enough of!
Incredible organic teas and food supplements that combine nature’s finest ethically sourced herbs with the wisdom of our master herbsmith Sebastian Pole. Together we create uniquely beautiful, beneficial blends. Teas to lift you, soothe you, and refresh you. Pukka wants to help you discover a healthier, happier life. ‘Pukka’ means authentic and it’s at the heart of everything we do. From the incredible organic and fairly traded herbs we use, to the fact that we give 1% of our turnover to support not-for-profit environmental organisations. – Pukka
Pukka Herbs now offers over 40 different flavours of tea, but they also have created organic supplements and food that a lot of you may not already know. From classic tea including Lovely English Breakfast, Gorgeous Earl Grey & Elegant English Breakfast to their many types of green or fruity teas, to their ‘Three’ collections that consists of three types of ingredients of the same family for extra flavour, Pukka have whipped up an impressive amount of teas for us to relax, rewind and mainly to enjoy.
Sebastian Pole is deemed the Pukka Master Herbsmith, and listening to him during his presentation I completely agree. He taught us about the many joys the new Turmeric Gold range holds, which is a delicious herbal tea blend of the finest Indian turmeric, lemon, tulsi and green tea. This aromatic infusion has a soothing sweetness and a citrus twist. The antioxidants in Turmeric Gold are also so high that just one cup provides the equivalent of a portion of blueberries – now that’s a cup of goodness if ever there was one! The tea is of course organic, and even the teabag & string are made of organic materials for a completely ethical product. On first taste, I was in love. And this foodie LOVES her tea, so you know I’m not just pushing the tea, I genuinely enjoy drinking it. I feel very refreshed & calm whilst drinking Turmeric Gold and it’s very gentle on my stomach, which is a necessity as I’m prone to awful tummy aches. (And if you follow me on Snapchat/@NirinaXX, you’ll have seen me snap this tea as my daily cuppa!)
“For thousands of years, turmeric has been used as a powerful anti-inflammatory in Chinese and Indian medicine. The antioxidants contained in turmeric not only provide further anti-inflammatory protection, but also have the ability to protect cellular DNA and repair any existing cellular damage from. At Pukka Herbs, we’re pioneering a method of capturing all of the goodness in a plant and we’re confident that our turmeric teas & wellbeing supplements are the most potent and effective on the market. When compared with turmeric root, our wholistic Turmeric is now ten times more concentrated in curcuminoids and one and a half times more concentrated in essential oils.” – Sebastian Pole, Founder
Pukka’s range of well-being supplements boasts turmeric’s greatness even more so. It includes Turmeric Active, Wholistic Turmeric, Turmeric Lifekind and Active 35 Oil. Turmeric is a spice used in Indian cooking worldwide, but it is also fast-becoming the remedy of choice for inflammation, pain relief, digestive disorders and much more, as it has at least 10 different anti-oxidants and contains at least 20 phytochemicals that are anti-biotic, (14 of which are known as a cancer preventative, 12 that are anti-tumor and 12 that are anti-inflammatory).
