Solange is one of my favourite artists, and an underrated artist too. When she first released her music in 2003, she was very much in her big sister Beyoncé’s shadow, but her music is worth every listen – especially now. She released her EP album, TRUE (2012), and with it Losing You, and this EP is exceptional. After hearing the first 30 seconds of the opening track, I was hooked. Her style, her vocals, her lyrics. Solange has got it all and as any fashion bloggers out there know, she’s a true chameleon and daredevil when it comes to style. And the video for Losing You really shows this too, inspired by the fashion of Le Sape Society of the Republic of Congo and Italian photographer Daniele Tamagni’s book Gentlemen of Bacongo.
